Sustainability

Our sustainability story didn’t start on a runway; it started in the wind energy sector where our founders first cut their teeth. Turns out, the engineering mindset translates pretty well to clothing. That knack for innovation wasn't a one-off—it was the spark that led us to craft gear robust enough for a gale force wind and stylish enough for a drink afterward.

Today, we share resources with our sibling company, Ecomerit Technologies. While we’re doing our best to build better apparel, they’re out there tackling the heavy lifting—ocean wave energy, reverse osmosis, and carbon capture. We share a roof and a mission: practical innovation that respects the planet.

So, how do we keep our footprint light while making clothes meant for daily use? Here’s the breakdown:

Sustainability — Our Middle Name (Not Really, But You Get the Idea)

  • Repurposing Fabrics: We’re like the MacGyvers of fashion. Give us unused, already-made fabrics, and we’ll whip up something that’ll make both you and the planet look good. It’s our way of spinning the wheel in favor of a circular economy, trimming down waste, and working to keep our ecological footprint lighter than a feather.
  • Blue Sign Vendors: Some of our fabric vendors are so cool they're literally Blue Sign certified. Think of it as the eco-conscious badge of honor for fabric mills. This means our threads aren't just easy on the eyes but kind to the planet too.
  • Eco-Friendly Arsenal: As we’ve grown, so has our toolkit. We’re constantly scouting for fibers that work harder. We’re talking organic cotton, hemp that restores the soil, recycled polyester, and Seawool—a brilliant material derived from recycled plastic bottles and oyster shells. It’s not just about being "green"; it’s about engineering a better product.

The Brainy Stuff: UCSB's Microfiber Impact Research Support
Ever heard of microfiber shedding? Yeah, it's a thing. We've poured our hearts, souls, and some decent cash into assisting the academic wizards over at UCSB's Bren School for Environmental Science learn more about how these tiny villains are escaping our clothes and into the wild. It's all about making good on our promise to do better.

Built to Last Because You've Got Better Things To Do
Most clothing companies want their stuff to be the main character. We’d rather ours be the reliable sidekick. We build clothing, not "fashion," because fashion expires—tools endure. Our design philosophy is simple: create pieces that show up, do the job, and stay out of your way. By choosing durability over the endless "wear-once-and-toss" cycle, we save you money and give the planet a breather. We’d rather you buy one shirt that works as hard as you do than ten that quit after a few washes.

We aren't claiming to have solved every problem, but we’re committed to doing the work. It’s about merging old-school durability with modern tech to create a future where your clothes actually do some good. Now, if we could only figure out how to get our button-ups to do the laundry themselves, we’d really be onto something.
